About Us
We are Charnwood Country Residence, a residential care home near Hereford. We look after older people, including those living with dementia, and we take respite bookings for shorter stays.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are proud of that and also clear about what it means. It is not a promise that nothing will ever go wrong here. It reflects the fact that we know the people who live here well, that our staff are properly supported, and that when something needs putting right we deal with it rather than explaining it away.
In daily life that shows in small things. People get up and go to bed when they choose. Meals are what somebody actually wants to eat. Their own furniture and pictures come with them and their habits come first. Being out in the country, we make good use of the grounds and the garden. For people living with dementia, we work with the person as they are now, knowing their history, spotting early what unsettles them and going at their pace rather than the rota's.
Relatives are welcome at any reasonable hour and we tell them when something has changed. Please ring us and come and see the home.
