About Us
Here at Skylark House, we provide nursing home care for people living in Horsham and across West Sussex. Our team supports a wide range of needs, including older person care, nursing care, dementia care, mental health support, physical disability care, younger adults, and respite care. We genuinely believe that good care looks different for every person who comes through our doors, and we work hard to understand what matters most to each individual.
We are proud to have received a "Good" rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the effort our whole team puts in day to day. It is not something we take for granted, and we continue to look at how we can do things better for the people we support and their families.
Dementia care is an area we give a great deal of thought to. We know how unsettling it can be for someone living with dementia to move into a new environment, and we put real effort into making that transition as gentle as possible. The same applies to anyone coming to us for a shorter respite stay. Whether someone is with us for a few weeks or for the long term, they deserve to feel comfortable and at home.
Families are important to us too. We encourage people to stay involved in the lives of their loved ones and to speak openly with us about any concerns or wishes they have. We would far rather have an honest conversation than have anyone feel they cannot raise something.
If you are thinking about care for yourself or for someone close to you, we would welcome the chance to chat. You are very welcome to come and see us, ask questions, and get a feel for who we are and how we work. Skylark House is a place where people are known, not just looked after.
