About Us
Wellcross Grange Care Home is a nursing home near Horsham, caring for older people who need qualified nursing as well as help with everyday life. Nurses are on duty day and night, which means medication, wound and pressure care and conditions that need close monitoring are managed here, and somebody who becomes unwell is seen straight away.
A large number of our residents are living with dementia. We keep the day unhurried and familiar, keep the same staff working with the same people, and take time to understand what somebody is telling us when words have become difficult. Rushing a person with dementia never saves anybody time, so we plan on the basis that things take as long as they take. If a resident wants to walk about, we make it safe rather than asking them to sit down.
Good nursing exists to make an ordinary life possible. Residents choose when they get up, what they eat, where they sit and who comes to visit, and there is a garden to sit in when the weather allows. Meals are cooked here and nobody is hurried through a plate.
Respite stays are available for people needing nursing support for a short period and for family carers who need a genuine break.
Families are welcome, and we would always rather hear a concern early. Please ring us if you would like to visit and look round.
