About Us
Kings Lodge Nursing Home provides nursing care in Chichester for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people living with a mental health condition and people with physical disabilities. Registered nurses are on duty at all hours.
Nursing care can easily become a list of tasks, and we work at stopping that. The clinical side is done thoroughly, with skin, pain, medication, nutrition and continence checked properly rather than assumed. But the reason somebody is here is to live, not to be managed, so we pay equal attention to whether people are getting outside, seeing who they want to see, eating things they enjoy and having something in the week worth being up for.
For people living with dementia, and for anyone whose mental health fluctuates, we plan around familiarity and adjust to how somebody actually is rather than to how a plan says they should be.
Respite stays are available.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Requires Improvement. We are not going to leave you to find that out elsewhere. We accept what was found, we are working through an improvement plan, and if you ask us where we have got to we will tell you plainly, including the parts that remain outstanding.
If you are considering nursing care in West Sussex, please come and look round. Ask about staffing levels, ask what has changed since the inspection, and ask to speak to relatives of people already living here.
