About Birtley House Nursing Home
Birtley House Nursing Home is near Guildford in Surrey. Having qualified nurses on duty means we can care for people whose health needs go beyond what a residential home can safely manage, and it usually means somebody can stay with us as their needs increase rather than facing another move at the hardest possible time. We care for older people who need nursing support, including many living with dementia and many with physical disabilities, and we support people living with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available for people needing nursing care for a limited period or whose family carer needs a proper break. Clinically we concentrate on what makes the greatest difference: medication given correctly, skin integrity, nutrition and hydration, pain managed properly, safe moving and handling, and acting early when a condition alters. We work closely with the GP practice and the community health teams who support us. The rest of the job is making this a good place to live. Residents keep their own rooms and their own belongings, choose when to get up and what to eat, and can have company or quiet as they prefer. The house and grounds get used when the weather allows, and families are welcome at any reasonable hour. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to visit.
