About Hendford Nursing Home
Hendford Nursing Home is in Epsom. We care for older people who need nursing support, including those living with dementia and those living with mental ill health. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Registered nurses are here throughout the day and night, which means clinical needs can be met without a person being moved on every time their health changes. Wound care, catheters, diabetes, pain relief and the gradual increase in need that comes with frailty are all handled here, by people who know the person. We think the clinical side is only half the job. The other half is a day worth getting up for. Residents choose their routines, their rooms are their own, and nobody is expected to join in with anything out of politeness. Where dementia or mental ill health is part of the picture, we keep the environment calm and consistent and take time to understand how somebody communicates when words become difficult. Distress almost always has a reason, and finding it beats managing the symptom. Respite stays suit people who need nursing input for a short period and family carers who need a proper break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit Hendford and ask us whatever you need to.
