About Glebe House Care Home
Glebe House Care Home is a nursing home in Bristol. We care for older people whose health needs mean that qualified nurses should be close at hand, and we do that in a house where people live properly rather than simply being looked after. Having nurses on the premises makes a real difference. It means we can support people with complex or changing health needs, including people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment, without them being moved on somewhere else every time their situation changes. Much of our work is with people living with dementia, and we give that the unhurried time it needs, because pressing someone who is confused rarely helps anybody. We also welcome people for respite stays, whether a family carer needs a break or someone needs nursing support for a while after a hospital admission. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was outstanding. We are proud of it, and we are also wary of it, because a rating like that is only worth having if it still describes the place a year later. So we keep checking our own work, and we keep listening to residents and families who tell us when something could be better. If you are considering nursing care for someone you love, please come and visit. Walk round, meet the team, and see the house on a normal day rather than a prepared one.
