About Us

Charterhouse Care Home is a nursing home in Bristol, caring for older people and younger adults whose needs go beyond what can be managed at home.

Registered nurses work alongside our care staff, which means we can support people with complex health needs, people recovering from illness or surgery, and people whose conditions are progressing. Someone who settles here does not have to move on when their needs change, and for families that reassurance counts for a great deal.

We care for a number of residents living with dementia, and we also support people living with a physical disability. In both cases the work is practical rather than theoretical. It means knowing how a person likes to be helped, getting the equipment and the timing right, and giving people long enough to do what they can for themselves before stepping in.

Respite stays are available, whether that is to give a family carer a planned break or to support someone for a few weeks while they get back on their feet.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are glad of that, though the opinion we listen hardest to is that of residents and their relatives.

If you are looking at nursing care in Bristol, you would be very welcome to visit Charterhouse. Ring us, come and look round without being hurried, and ask us the questions you actually want answered.
