About Us
Here at The Albany Care Home in Oxford, we provide nursing care for older adults across a range of needs, and we take that responsibility seriously.
Our team supports residents living with dementia, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments, as well as those who come to us for shorter respite stays. Whatever brings someone through our doors, we aim to make sure they feel settled, respected, and genuinely looked after from the moment they arrive.
We know that choosing a nursing home for yourself or someone you love is one of the most significant decisions a family can make. We do not take that lightly. Our nursing staff work closely with residents and their families to understand individual needs and preferences, because good care is not one size fits all. It is built around the person in front of you.
We want to be straightforward with you. Our most recent CQC inspection resulted in a "requires improvement" rating, and we think it is important to be open about that rather than gloss over it. We have taken the findings seriously and have been working through the areas identified, making changes to how we operate and how we support our team. That work is ongoing, and we welcome scrutiny because we believe it leads to better outcomes for the people in our care.
Oxford is a city we are proud to be part of, and many of our residents have deep roots here. We try to reflect that sense of community in the way we run the home, encouraging family involvement and making space for residents to continue doing the things that matter to them.
If you would like to visit, ask questions, or simply have a conversation about whether The Albany Care Home might be right for you or your loved one, we would be glad to hear from you.
