About Us
Oakfield Nursing Home is a nursing home in Preston, Lancashire, with registered nurses on the team at all hours. We support older adults and younger adults with a wide span of needs, including people living with dementia, people with a learning disability, autistic people, people with mental health needs, people with complex physical disabilities, and people living with sight or hearing loss. We also offer respite stays.
Caring well for so varied a group means resisting the urge to run everything to one pattern. What suits a person living with advanced dementia is not what suits a younger adult with a physical disability who wants to be out several times a week, and neither of them should have to fit the other's timetable. So we plan around individuals and accept the extra work that creates.
Nursing care is the clinical backbone of the home and it has to be dependable. But people live here, and the ordinary things matter just as much. Food that is worth eating, choice about the day, familiar possessions, and visitors who can come when it suits them.
We keep families properly informed, and we ask them what they know, because they usually hold the details that make sense of a person.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to arrange a visit.
