About Us

At Longton Nursing Home, we provide nursing and personal care for older adults in a warm and settled environment in Preston, Lancashire. We have been rated Good by the Care Quality Commission, and that recognition matters to us, though what matters more is that the people living here feel safe, respected and genuinely at home.

We support a range of needs including dementia care, nursing care, care for people living with a physical disability, and short term respite stays. Whether someone is joining us for a brief period of recovery and rest or making Longton their permanent home, we aim to make that transition as smooth and comfortable as possible for them and for their family.

Dementia care sits at the heart of much of what we do. We know that living with dementia affects not just memory but identity, relationships and confidence. Our approach centres on getting to know each person properly, understanding their history, their preferences and what makes them feel settled and secure. The same applies across all the care we provide. We do not take a one size fits all approach because no two people are the same.

Families are a vital part of life here. We encourage visits, involvement and open communication, and we welcome the conversations that help us care well for the people we support. If something is not right, we want to hear about it, and if something is working well, we want to hear that too.

Our team works hard to maintain a calm, respectful atmosphere where residents are treated as individuals with their own voices and choices. We are proud of the community we have built at Longton and we look forward to welcoming anyone who would like to find out more about whether we might be the right fit for their loved one.
