About Us
Abberton Manor Nursing Home provides nursing care in Colchester, Essex. We care for older people and for younger adults whose conditions call for skilled nursing, for people managing mental ill health, for those with physical disabilities and for people with sight or hearing loss. We also take respite bookings.
Having qualified nurses on duty at all hours means we can look after people with considerable health needs on site, manage periods of illness here rather than through repeated hospital admissions, and pick up changes early because our staff know the people they are looking after.
Alongside that clinical side, we work hard to keep this somewhere people live. Rooms are people's own, filled with their own belongings. The day has shape without being regimented. There is company for those who want it and peace for those who do not, and the food is meant to be looked forward to.
We keep close working relationships with GPs, community therapists and specialist teams around Colchester, and where somebody is approaching the end of their life we plan for it honestly and in their own words, well in advance.
Families are welcome and are part of how decisions get made. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are considering nursing care in the Colchester area, come and look round and ask us anything you like.
