About Us
Manor Hall Nursing Home is in Eastbourne in East Sussex. We care for older people and younger adults who need nursing support, including people managing mental health conditions, and we take respite bookings.
Having qualified nurses on site around the clock means we can look after people whose health is genuinely complicated and keep looking after them as things change, rather than moving somebody on at the point continuity matters most. Wound care, pain, continence, nutrition, medication and moving safely are all managed properly here, and a good deal that would otherwise mean a trip to hospital can be handled here instead.
Supporting mental health alongside nursing care asks for steadiness rather than intervention. We keep to arrangements we have made, we notice when somebody seems unlike themselves without turning it into an interrogation, and we are as reliable on the difficult weeks as on the good ones. Where people are working with community mental health teams we join up with them properly.
We also guard against clinical care quietly reducing a person to a round of tasks. People choose when they get up, what they wear, what is on the plate and how the afternoon goes. We knock, we explain what we are about to do, and we wait to be told it is all right.
At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall, and we keep asking residents and relatives what needs our attention.
