About Us
Acorn Hollow General Nursing Home is in Northwich, providing nursing care for older people and younger adults across Cheshire West and Chester.
Having qualified nurses on site at every hour is what allows us to look after people whose health needs are substantial and liable to change. Medication, wound care, careful attention to nutrition, pain and skin, and the close monitoring that catches deterioration early are the ordinary content of our days rather than exceptional events. For a lot of the people who move in, the immediate gain is simply an end to the cycle of hospital admissions.
What we work hardest at, though, is making sure good nursing does not quietly take over somebody's life. The people here are adults with histories, opinions and preferences, and a medical need cancels none of that. So we ask before we act, we keep personal care private, we make visitors genuinely welcome rather than merely permitted, and we try to make sure the day holds something a person would have chosen for themselves. Nobody is woken at seven because it suits a rota.
Families often know things about a person that we could never guess, particularly about what helps on a bad day, and we ask for that early.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We take it as a starting point. Come and look round and speak to whichever nurse is on duty.
