About Us

St Cyril's is a nursing home in Chester providing neurological care and rehabilitation. We support adults who need qualified nursing on the premises, including people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss, and we also offer respite stays.

Neurological conditions affect people in ways that no two of them share, and rehabilitation only works when it is built around the individual. We look at what a person could do before, what they want to be able to do now, and what a realistic step towards that looks like this month rather than in theory. Progress is often slow and uneven, and we think it matters to be honest with people and their families about that rather than promising more than we can deliver.

Having nurses here at all hours means we can manage complex needs, medication, skin care and changing health without moving someone elsewhere. It also means the rehabilitation and the nursing pull in the same direction rather than competing.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather state that openly. We have worked through what the inspection identified and made changes, and we are willing to talk through the detail with anyone who is considering us.
