About Cottenham Court Care Home
Cottenham Court is a nursing home near Cambridge. We care for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing alongside help with daily living, including people with a learning disability or autism and people with a physical disability. We also take respite bookings. Having nurses on site changes what can be managed here. Wound care, catheters, complicated medication and health that shifts from one day to the next are handled in the home rather than through repeated trips to hospital, which matters most at the point when somebody is worn out by being moved around. The nursing is only half of the job. People here choose how their day runs, keep their own belongings around them, eat food they actually want and see their families whenever they like. Being nursed should not mean being managed, and we work at keeping ordinary life going alongside the treatment. Communication gets close attention, because understanding somebody properly is what allows them to have a say in their own care rather than have it arranged around them. We talk plainly with relatives, especially when health is changing. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking at nursing or respite care around Cambridge, please get in touch and come and see the home.
