About Wisteria Care
We are Wisteria Care, and we provide care and support to people in their own homes in Salisbury and across Wiltshire. The people we visit are varied. Some are older and need a steady hand with washing, dressing, meals and medication. Some are living with dementia, where what helps most is familiarity, patience and a calm routine that does not shift about from one day to the next. We also support adults managing mental health conditions and physical disabilities, and younger adults who want help to live the life they have chosen rather than a life arranged for them. Because we work in people's homes, we try to be unobtrusive. We learn how a household runs, where things are kept and how somebody likes their tea, and we follow the person's lead on what they want help with and what they would rather do themselves. Plans are written with the person, reviewed whenever things change, and shared with family and other professionals when that is what the person wants. Reliability matters more than almost anything else in home care, so we keep our rounds sensible, we keep our teams consistent, and we ring ahead if we are running behind. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. We are glad to answer questions about our care, our staff and the way we work, so please feel free to call and talk things through.

More about the care at Wisteria Care
Dementia Care at Wisteria Care
Dementia care is one of six categories on this agency's registration, alongside older person care, mental health, physical disability, younger adults and home care generally. At home, good dementia support usually rests on familiar faces, a routine that does not move about, and patience when the same question comes round again. Wisteria Care describes exactly that approach for the people it visits in Salisbury, naming familiarity, patience and a calm routine. Because the agency has no inspection report yet, the detail is worth drawing out in conversation. Ask how carers respond to distress or refusal of care, and whether the same small team is guaranteed. Ask also how visits are reviewed as dementia advances and more help becomes necessary.
Home Care at Wisteria Care
Across the South West, home care is typically charged at £28 to £33 an hour, a regional guide rather than a quote from Wisteria Care. The agency covers Salisbury and the wider county, and Wiltshire is the council to approach about an assessment and any funding. What a week costs depends on how many visits are needed and how long each lasts, so compare visit length as well as the rate. Support plans here are written with the person, reviewed when things change and shared with family or other professionals if the person wishes. Reliability is the point the agency presses hardest on. Test it by asking how late visits are covered and what happens when a regular carer is off.
Older Person Care at Wisteria Care
Wisteria Care joined the CQC register on 30 October 2026, run by Mr and Mrs S Wortley, so no inspection judgement exists yet. For older clients in Salisbury the agency is registered to provide personal care, usually meaning a steady hand with washing, dressing, meals and medication at agreed times. The agency says it aims to be unobtrusive, learning how a household runs and following the person's lead on what they want help with. It also says rounds are kept sensible and teams consistent, with a call ahead if a carer is running late. Families should ask how early a first visit can start and how late an evening call can be. Ask whether any overnight or waking night support exists, because many agencies stop at bedtime.
Mental Health at Wisteria Care
Mental health is among the categories Wisteria Care is registered for, though no CQC rating has been issued. Support at home for an adult managing a mental health condition often means steadiness more than tasks, a predictable visit and someone who notices a change early. The agency says plans are reviewed whenever things change. Ask what experience the carers have and who is reachable if someone becomes unwell between visits.
Younger Adults at Wisteria Care
Adults under 65 are one of the groups Wisteria Care is registered to support, alongside older clients. A week for someone that age may be built around work, study or friends, a different pattern from the one most rounds assume. The agency says it follows the person's lead rather than arranging a life for them. Ask how flexible visit times can be and how plans are reviewed as circumstances shift.
Physical Disability at Wisteria Care
Wiltshire is the authority to contact about an assessment, equipment and any adaptations to the home. Wisteria Care is registered for physical disability and visits people in their own homes, so equipment belongs to the household rather than the agency. That makes moving and handling the thing to discuss, along with who reviews hoists, rails or a wet room. Ask how carers are trained to help someone move safely.
