About Base
Wiltshire Base is a home care agency in Chippenham, supporting people in their own homes across Wiltshire. We are here for people who would rather stay in the home they know, among their own things and neighbours, and who need the right support to make that safe and sustainable. We visit older people and younger adults. We support people living with dementia, people with mental health needs and people with physical disabilities. A visit may involve personal care, help with medication, cooking a meal, support with mobility and moving safely about the home, household tasks, or company for someone who would otherwise spend the whole day alone. Some clients need one short call and others need several longer visits. We start by asking the questions that really shape a day, such as what time someone likes to get up, what they enjoy eating and what they want to keep doing for themselves. That becomes a written plan which we follow and revise as needs change. Keeping the same carers with the same clients is a priority for us, and in a county with a good many villages we plan our rounds so that nobody is treated as an afterthought because of where they live. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We value it, though the better test is whether our clients feel respected and in charge of their own homes while we are in them.
