About Us
Cambridge Care Company provides care and support to people in their own homes in Newmarket and the surrounding part of Suffolk. We work with people living with dementia, people with learning disabilities, autistic people, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss.
Home care is only worth having if it fits the person. We visit first, without charge and without obligation, and we talk about how the day actually goes now, what has become difficult and what somebody wants to carry on doing themselves. The plan comes out of that conversation, agreed with the person and with family or an advocate if they want them there.
We keep the team around each household small. Being helped by somebody who already knows you is not a luxury, particularly for autistic people and for anybody who finds new faces difficult, so we introduce staff properly and avoid changes at short notice wherever we can.
Support covers personal care, medication, meals and drinks, housework and laundry, shopping, getting out to appointments, work, college or something sociable, and company. Where somebody has a physical disability we look closely at equipment and transfers. Where sight or hearing is affected we think about how we announce ourselves.
