About Willowcare

Willowcare supports people in their own homes in Brandon and across Suffolk. We visit older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, people with physical disabilities and people whose sight or hearing has changed. Rural Suffolk brings its own challenges. Distances are longer, neighbours are further away and isolation creeps up on people quietly. We plan our rounds so that visits are reliable and the same carers cover the same areas, which matters more here than it might in a town, both for the practical business of turning up on time and for the simple fact that for some of the people we visit ours is the only conversation of the day. Support might mean help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, shopping and housework, or it might mean getting somebody safely to an appointment, or sitting with a person so that a family carer can have a few hours to themselves. We agree what is needed with the person, write it down, and change it whenever their circumstances change rather than waiting for a review date. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. We are pleased with that, though we take more notice of what the people we visit tell us week by week. If you are weighing up care at home, we will come out, talk it through and be straight with you about what we can offer.
