About Us
At Tempra Health Care, we provide home care support to people living in Bristol and the surrounding South Gloucestershire area. We come to you, which means you or your loved one can carry on living in familiar surroundings, with routines and independence kept as intact as possible.
We work with older people, younger adults, and people living with dementia or a physical disability. Every situation is different, and we take the time to understand what genuinely matters to each person before agreeing how we can help. That might mean support with daily tasks, personal care, companionship, or a combination of things that shifts as needs change over time.
Dementia care is something we think about carefully. We know that consistency and familiarity can make a real difference to how settled and secure someone feels day to day, so we try hard to ensure that the same familiar faces are turning up at the door rather than a rotating cast of strangers.
For people living with a physical disability, whether that is a long-standing condition or something more recent, we aim to work alongside the person rather than simply doing things for them. Keeping as much control and choice as possible in the hands of the individual matters to us.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and are committed to operating openly and honestly. Our rating is currently listed as not yet rated, and we welcome the scrutiny that external inspection brings.
If you are trying to work out whether home care is the right option, or you simply want to ask a few questions before committing to anything, please do get in touch. We are happy to have a straightforward conversation without any pressure. You can reach us directly and we will do our best to point you in the right direction, whether that ends up being with us or not.

More about the care at Tempra Health Care Services Ltd.
What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.
Older Person Care
Older people using a visiting service in Bristol typically receive help with washing, dressing, prompting or administering medication, preparing meals and a bit of company during what can otherwise be a quiet day. Tempra Health Care Services is registered with the CQC for older person care across South Gloucestershire, though it has not yet been inspected and rated. Families weighing up a home care agency should ask how call times are set and protected, whether the same small group of workers will visit each week, and what happens if a regular carer is off sick. It is also worth asking whether night or twilight calls are available, how emergencies out of hours are handled, and how medication records are kept and shared with GPs. Indicative South West rates sit around £28 to £33 an hour, so confirm the exact hourly charge and any minimum call length.
Dementia
Thoughtful dementia support at home usually rests on predictable routines, a small consistent team of workers who learn a person's history and preferences, calm unhurried visits and gentle prompting rather than taking over. The environment matters too, so uncluttered rooms, good lighting and familiar objects in their usual places all help someone feel more settled. Tempra Health Care Services is registered for dementia care, and its own description talks about trying to send familiar faces rather than a rotating cast of strangers, though as an unrated agency families will want to test how this works in practice. Ask how carers are trained to respond to distress or resistance during personal care, what they do if someone becomes disorientated or tries to leave the house, and how the plan is reviewed as the condition progresses. Also ask how they liaise with family and the GP when things change.
Physical Disability
Support for adults with a physical disability at home tends to centre on personal care, safe moving and handling, help with equipment such as hoists or wheelchairs, and working in a way that keeps the person in charge of decisions. Tempra Health Care Services is registered for this care type and describes working alongside people rather than doing things for them. Ask what moving and handling training carers hold, whether they will liaise with occupational therapists, and how they support independence with tasks like cooking or getting out.
Younger Adults
Adults under 65 receiving support at home often want help that fits around work, study, relationships and social life rather than a routine built around an older person's day. Tempra Health Care Services is registered to support younger adults alongside its other care groups. Ask how visits can flex around evenings, weekends and time out of the house, and whether carers are comfortable supporting community activities as well as personal care at home.
