Richmond Village Letcombe Regis provides care and support to older people living in their own homes on the village site near Wantage, Oxfordshire.
This way of living is a different proposition from a care home. The home is the person's own, with their own front door, their own things and their own routine, and care comes to them rather than them moving into a setting built around care. For a great many older people that is exactly the arrangement they want: independence kept, with help on hand when it is needed.
The support itself covers personal care given without rushing, prompting and help with medication, preparing meals, laundry, shopping and keeping the home in order, along with getting out to appointments or simply out for company. What somebody needs changes over time, so we review arrangements honestly rather than letting a plan sit unchanged.
