About Us

Active Care In The Home provides support to people in their own homes in Thame and the surrounding parts of Oxfordshire. We work with older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities.

Working across a market town and the villages around it, we know the area well, and we plan our rounds so that calls happen when we have said they will. For somebody waiting for help to get up in the morning, or for a family member at work wondering whether their mother has had her lunch, reliability is the thing that matters most.

The support is agreed with the person before we begin and built around how they actually live. It might involve help with washing and dressing, prompting or assisting with medication, cooking meals and encouraging somebody to eat and drink properly, help to move safely about the house, laundry and shopping, or support to keep appointments and stay connected with other people. We put the arrangement in writing and revise it as needs change.

Our carers are trained for the needs they will encounter, supervised properly, and matched to people with some thought about temperament as well as skills. We keep the same carers visiting the same people wherever the rota allows, because trust is built by familiarity and nothing else.

If you are looking into care at home in this part of Oxfordshire, please contact us and we will be honest about what we can offer.
