About Kingwood Care and Support
Kingwood Care and Support works with people in their own homes in Didcot and across Oxfordshire. We support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, older people and younger adults. Our work is usually less about personal care tasks and more about making an ordinary life workable. Running a household. Cooking, shopping and managing money. Getting to college, work or activities. Keeping up with family and friends. Handling appointments and the paperwork that piles up. For many of the people we support, having somebody reliable who turns up and who knows them is what holds a week together. Support is planned around what each person wants to be able to do rather than around risk alone. Where somebody needs a great deal of help, we still look for the parts they can take on, because independence slips away quietly unless it is actively protected. We keep asking whether we are doing more than is wanted, which is an easy habit to fall into. We learn how each person communicates, including those who use little or no speech, and we adapt to them rather than the reverse. Predictability, noise and sensory needs all affect how a day goes. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to talk things through.
