About Us
Here at Prime Social Care, we provide home care support to people living in Banbury and the surrounding areas of Oxfordshire. Our work covers a wide range of needs, including support for older people, those living with dementia, individuals with learning disabilities or autism, and people managing physical disabilities. We also work with younger adults who need a helping hand to live as independently as possible in their own homes.
We know that inviting a care worker into your home is a big decision, and we do not take that trust lightly. Our aim is to make sure that every person we support feels genuinely comfortable with the people coming through their door, and that the care they receive actually fits around their life rather than the other way around.
We are registered with and inspected by the Care Quality Commission. Our most recent inspection resulted in a "requires improvement" rating, and we want to be straightforward about that. We have taken the findings seriously and have been working through the areas identified to make meaningful changes. We believe it is important to be honest with the people we support and their families, and we are committed to making sure our standard of care reflects what people deserve.
Our team is made up of people who genuinely want to make a difference to the individuals they visit each day. We work hard to match the right support worker to the right person, taking into account personality as well as practical needs, because we think that relationship matters enormously.
If you are looking for home care support in Banbury or nearby, we would welcome the chance to speak with you about what you need and how we might be able to help. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us directly.

More about the care at Prime Social Care Services Ltd
What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.
Older Person Care
Support at home for older people usually blends practical help with a friendly presence, covering things like a morning wash, help getting dressed, prompting or administering medication on time, preparing meals and simply having someone to talk to during the visit. Prime Social Care is registered with the CQC to provide this kind of personal care in Banbury and the surrounding villages. Families thinking about using the service should ask how visit times are agreed and whether the same small group of carers will attend each week, since continuity matters enormously to older people. It is also worth asking what happens if a call runs late, how medication errors are recorded, and whether night or twilight visits are available if needs change. Hourly rates across the South East typically sit between £29 and £35, and Oxfordshire County Council commissions at its own set rate.
Dementia
Living well with dementia at home usually depends on familiar routines, a calm environment and carers who know the person's history, preferences and triggers well enough to spot small changes early. Prime Social Care is registered to provide dementia support in Banbury, though as an unclaimed profile we cannot describe how its team is trained or how visits are structured in practice. Families should ask how the agency matches carers to someone with memory loss, whether the same faces attend most calls, and how staff are guided to respond when a person becomes distressed, anxious or wants to leave the house. It is also worth asking how the service adapts as dementia progresses, for example when continence, swallowing or sleep patterns change, and how they liaise with GPs, district nurses and the Oxfordshire memory service.
Learning Disability / Autism
Good support for adults with a learning disability or autism is built around the individual, protecting routines, respecting sensory needs and building independence in cooking, budgeting or travel where possible. Prime Social Care is registered with the CQC for this care type in Banbury. Most placements are commissioned by Oxfordshire County Council or the NHS, with regular reviews of the support plan. Ask how outcomes are tracked and how the person's own voice shapes decisions.
Physical Disability
Adults with a physical disability often need help with transfers, personal care, continence and getting out into the community, alongside equipment such as hoists, profiling beds or wet room aids. As home care, Prime Social Care visits people in their own properties, so it is worth asking whether carers are comfortable using the equipment already in place and how moving and handling risks are assessed. Check how the agency coordinates with occupational therapy if adaptations are needed.
Younger Adults
Adults under 65 receiving home care in Banbury often want support that fits around work, college, family or hobbies rather than a fixed routine designed for older clients. Prime Social Care is registered to support younger adults across Oxfordshire. Ask how visits can flex around evenings, weekends and social plans, and how the service helps people stay connected with peers of a similar age rather than becoming isolated at home.
