About Us
We are the short term support team in Berwick Upon Tweed, working with people in their own homes at the point where something has changed, often after a spell in hospital or a sudden loss of confidence. Our support usually runs for a set period and has a clear purpose, which is to help somebody get back to doing as much for themselves as they can rather than settling into long term care they may not need.
We work with older people, people living with dementia, adults managing mental health conditions, people living with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss, as well as younger adults.
Work of this kind only succeeds if it is honest. Sometimes somebody regains far more than anybody expected, and sometimes the right answer is that ongoing care is needed, and we say so plainly rather than stretching things out.
