About Us

Turning Point Coqbeck Support provides care and support to people in their own homes in Bedlington and across Northumberland. Our purpose is to help people live the lives they want, in the places they have chosen, with the right amount of support alongside them.

A good part of our work is with adults who have a learning disability or who are autistic, and with younger adults building independent lives. Depending on what a person wants, support might mean help with cooking, budgeting, appointments and paperwork, or getting out to work, college or something purely for enjoyment, or simply being alongside someone while they do something for themselves for the first time. We also support older adults who need help with personal care and the practical business of the day.

We start by asking what a good week looks like for the person, not by listing what they cannot do. The plan belongs to them. Families and advocates are involved where that is wanted, and as people gain confidence the support should be able to step back rather than settle in permanently.
