We are Aspire, based in Lincoln, and we provide support during the day and in people's own homes across Lincolnshire. The people we work with include adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, adults living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities, people living with dementia, and younger adults. What we do is less about tasks than about making a life workable and worth getting up for. That might mean personal care and help with medication, but it just as often means company, activity, learning something, or simply having somewhere to go and people to see. Isolation does real harm, and a good deal of our value lies in preventing it. Support is planned with the person, in their own words, alongside family and professionals where they want them involved, and we review it as things change rather than letting a plan go stale. Consistency is what we work hardest at. The same staff wherever we can, routines that hold, and changes explained in advance rather than sprung on people. For autistic people that predictability is a need rather than a preference, and we take sensory comfort seriously for the same reason. For people living with dementia, familiarity does more good than any technique. We have not yet had an overall rating published by the Care Quality Commission. We prefer to say so ourselves, and we welcome close questions from families and professionals about how we work.
