About Thera East Midlands
Thera East Midlands is a home care agency based in Grantham, supporting people in their own homes across Lincolnshire and the surrounding area. We work with adults who have a learning disability, with autistic people, with people who have a physical disability and with older people. Our starting assumption is that the people we support are in charge of their own lives. Support exists to make a chosen life workable, not to manage someone quietly in the background. So we begin with what a person wants their week to look like and then work out honestly what help is needed to get there. For many of the people we support that means a tenancy of their own, control over their own money and food, and the ordinary freedoms that come with being an adult. It also means practical help with personal care, health appointments, cooking, travel and dealing with officialdom. Where someone has a physical disability we take real care over how we assist with moving, because the right technique is specific to the person. Lincolnshire is large and rural, and isolation is one of the biggest risks to the people we support, so getting out and staying connected is treated as part of the support rather than an extra. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are glad of it and we would rather be judged on what the people we support say about us.

More about the care at Thera East Midlands
Home Care at Thera East Midlands
Nineteen of the 32 agencies around Grantham are rated Good or Outstanding, well ahead of the 47 per cent figure for Lincolnshire as a whole. Thera East Midlands is registered to provide personal care in people's own homes across the county, for older people, younger adults, learning disability, autism and physical disability. It says Lincolnshire is large and rural and that isolation is one of the biggest risks, so getting out and staying connected is treated as part of the support. Hourly rates in the East Midlands usually fall between £26 and £31, with Lincolnshire council carrying out the assessment where public help may apply. Ask about minimum visit lengths and how travel time is handled.
Older Person Care at Thera East Midlands
A good rating sits on the record from an inspection on 10 July 2021, but the current registration dates only from 1 October 2026, so it may belong to an earlier registration or provider. Ten of the 32 agencies in this area have published a newer report since. For older people the practical help described covers personal care, health appointments, cooking, travel and dealing with officialdom. Ask who holds the relevant training, how Lincolnshire commissions and reviews the hours, and how often the plan is revisited.
Physical Disability at Thera East Midlands
The right technique for helping somebody move is specific to that person, this agency says, and it takes real care over it. Alongside that sit personal care, help with appointments and whatever equipment is already in the house.
