Atern Care provides care at home for people in Gainsborough and the surrounding villages. We keep what we do straightforward: reliable, respectful help in the place where somebody already lives, for as much or as little of the day as they need. Most of our work is with older people. We help with washing and dressing, prompting and support with medication, meals and drinks, laundry, shopping and keeping the home comfortable. We also help people get out of the house, whether that is to an appointment, to the shops or simply for some air, and we make time for the conversation that goes with it. In a market town and the villages around it, transport is not always easy, and getting out is often the part people miss most. We also support younger adults, arranging visits around work, study and family life rather than expecting somebody to plan their week around our rota. Keeping the same care workers going to the same households matters to us, because familiarity means somebody notices when things are not quite right. Care is arranged after a proper conversation with the person and, where they want it, their family, and reviewed as needs change. If something is not working we would rather hear it early.
