About Us
HF Trust London Kingston is a home care agency based in New Malden, supporting adults with a learning disability in their own homes and their own tenancies.
Our work is aimed at independence rather than at doing things for people. That might mean support with cooking, shopping, money, appointments and keeping a tenancy going, or help to get out, use local facilities, take up work or study and hold on to friendships.
The measure we care about is whether somebody's week contains things they chose and look forward to. If a person's life has quietly narrowed to the four walls of their flat while the paperwork says everything is fine, then the support is not working, however reliably the calls are delivered.
We plan with each person in language they can follow themselves. Where somebody communicates without speech, we learn how. Where the week needs to be predictable, we keep it predictable and flag changes well ahead. Where somebody wants to take an ordinary risk, we work out how to make it safe rather than how to avoid it.
