About Us
Cartref Homes Supported Living Scheme works with people in and around Sittingbourne in their own homes. Our starting point is what somebody wants their life to look like, and then the practical question of what support would make that possible.
We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, older people who need help with daily tasks, and younger adults. A great deal of what we do is about independence rather than dependence. Where somebody can take on more for themselves, whether that is cooking, shopping, managing money, using transport or getting into work or study, we would rather spend the time helping them get there than doing it for them because it is quicker.
Keeping the same workers with the same people matters to us. Being properly known makes it much easier for somebody to say when things are not going well, and it means changes get noticed early rather than late.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We treat that as the standard to maintain rather than a badge to display. If you are looking into supported living in this part of Kent, we are glad to talk through what we could offer and equally willing to say when something else would suit somebody better.
