About Us
New Option Support provides care and support to people in their own homes in Gravesend and across north Kent. We support older people and younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, learning disabilities and autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and visual and hearing impairment.
We start by sitting down with the person, and with whoever they want present, to work out what support would actually help. Sometimes the answer is modest: a visit in the morning and another at bedtime, help with medication, a meal prepared. Sometimes it is a good deal more, including support throughout the day for someone who cannot safely be alone. Either way the plan is agreed rather than issued, and it changes when circumstances do.
Good support at home depends on a few unglamorous things being right. Carers need to arrive when they said they would, know the person they are visiting, and have the training for the care they are giving. We recruit carefully, check everyone properly, and supervise our staff rather than leaving them to get on with it.
We are registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission. If you are thinking about care at home, for yourself or for a relative, you are welcome to ring and ask whatever you need to, including the awkward questions about cost and continuity that people are often too polite to put first.
