Our job is to make that possible for as long as it can safely be done. That might mean a short morning call to help someone wash and dress and get breakfast started, or several visits a day covering medication, meals and personal care, or simply company and a hand with the shopping. We try hard to send the same small group of carers to the same people, because continuity is what turns a service into a relationship. Our carers are trained before they work unsupervised, and we check in with families regularly to make sure what we agreed is what is actually happening. If circumstances change, and they often do, we will review the plan with you rather than carrying on regardless. If you are weighing up options for yourself or a relative, we are happy to visit, talk through what is possible and be honest about what we can and cannot offer. There is no obligation and no pressure.
