About Us

We are Home Instead East Hertfordshire and Uttlesford, based in Sawbridgeworth and supporting adults in their own homes across this area.

We support older people and people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities or autism, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, and younger adults who want help to live independently. In practice that means personal care, support with medication, meals, shopping and housework, help getting out to appointments, and the company that often matters as much as any task on a care plan.

We put a great deal of weight on continuity and on the length of a visit. Home care done in a hurry is not worth much, particularly for somebody living with dementia, where a familiar worker arriving at a familiar time can be the difference between a settled day and an unsettled one. So we try hard to send the same small group of people, and we stay the time we agreed rather than rushing off to the next call.
