About Us

Dobsons House provides care at home to people in Rayleigh and the surrounding part of Essex.

What we do is straightforward and depends on doing it properly. Visits at times that actually suit the person, covering help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, laundry, shopping and getting out to appointments or into the day. We work with older people and with younger adults, and we plan each package around the individual rather than fitting people to a standard pattern.

Consistency is the thing we work hardest at. Care at home is a relationship as much as a list of tasks, and someone who sees a different carer every week has to start from the beginning each time. A carer who knows a household notices when something is not right, adapts without making a fuss and turns a visit into an ordinary part of someone's morning.

For younger adults, support has to fit around work, study and a social life rather than replace them, and we plan on that basis.

We are also honest about limits. Home care suits a great many people, and for some there comes a point where it is no longer enough. We would rather say so clearly than let a situation drift.
