About Us

Shaftesbury East Anglia provides support to younger adults and to people living with physical disabilities in their own homes around Ingatestone and the surrounding part of Essex.

The point of our work is an ordinary life rather than a managed one. Support for somebody in their twenties or thirties is rarely about managing decline. It is about getting to work or college, keeping a home running, managing money and appointments, seeing friends, and handling the parts of daily life that are genuinely difficult. We do those parts and leave the rest alone, even when doing it ourselves would be quicker, because taking over is easy and hard to undo.

Where personal care is needed we provide it thoroughly and without fuss, and we work with GPs and community teams where specialist input helps.

We match staff to people with care and keep those teams small and consistent, because the relationship is where the value lies. A support worker who understands somebody can tell when something is wrong long before it becomes a crisis.
