About Green Care Contracts

Green Care Contracts supports people in their own homes in Harlow and the surrounding part of Essex. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, learning disabilities and autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and sight and hearing loss. Everything begins with a visit at home. We want to understand how the household works, who else is involved, what the person manages perfectly well without us and where help would make a real difference. The plan comes out of that conversation and belongs to the person to change. It might be a single daily call, support at several points for personal care, medication, meals and company, or longer visits for somebody who should not be alone for long stretches. Given the range of needs we meet, training is practical rather than a formality. Supporting an autistic person, supporting somebody in the later stages of dementia and supporting somebody with poor sight each call for different knowledge, and our carers have it before they go out. We hold onto continuity firmly and tell people in advance when a new carer is coming. Families are kept informed and we raise concerns early. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
