About Us

ACH Healthcare provides home care to adults in Harlow and the surrounding part of Essex. We support older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people who have sight or hearing loss. We also support people with eating disorders and people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug misuse.

Our visits cover the practical ground that keeps somebody living comfortably at home: help with washing and dressing, medicines, cooking and eating well, laundry and tidying, shopping, and getting out to appointments, groups or simply to see people. How much support, and when, is a matter for the person rather than for our convenience.

Continuity is what makes home care work or fail. Being helped with personal care by somebody unfamiliar is genuinely uncomfortable, and for anybody living with dementia a stranger at the door can unsettle a whole morning, so we keep the team around each person small and give notice when a change cannot be avoided. For people with mental health needs, and for people recovering from alcohol or drug misuse, reliability and an absence of judgement are most of what we bring.
