About Us

Nightowls Home Care provides support at home to adults in Colchester and the surrounding part of Essex.

We visit older people who need help to carry on living in their own houses, adults living with dementia, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment.

Our visits cover personal care given without rushing, prompting and support with medication, preparing meals, help with laundry, shopping and keeping the home in order, and getting out to appointments or simply out for some air and company.

For people living with dementia, staying at home is often the one thing keeping them settled, and that makes continuity essential rather than merely desirable. The same carers arriving at the same times will do more good than anything else we could offer, so we plan rotas around that rather than around convenience.

For people with sight or hearing loss we adapt how we announce ourselves and explain what we are doing, because being unable to follow what is happening around you is isolating in a way that is easy to underestimate.

We are guests in the homes we work in, and our staff are expected to behave that way.
