About Us

We provide supported living in Colchester and across Essex for adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, working with younger adults and with older people who need support at home.

Supported living means the house or flat belongs to the person rather than to us. We come in to help with whatever makes living there possible, and the aim is always that somebody runs their own life as far as they are able to. In practice that means the unglamorous things that make independence real: managing a tenancy, dealing with letters and bills, handling money, shopping and cooking, keeping appointments, getting to work, college or wherever a person wants to spend their time, and having staff alongside when something feels beyond facing alone.

We ask what a person wants their life to look like before we suggest anything. Where somebody has grown older in their own home, we adjust what we provide and take on more help with personal care and health as it is needed, rather than treating a move as the obvious answer.

Consistency of staff counts for a great deal in this work, particularly for autistic people, so we keep our teams as settled as we can and explain changes before they happen.
