About Us

I and S Care is a home care agency in Colchester, supporting adults in their own homes across the town and the surrounding area.

We work with older people and younger adults, and with adults who have a learning disability and autistic adults. The support varies a good deal between those groups. For an older person it is often personal care, medication and help with the parts of the day that have become difficult. For a younger adult it is more often about independence: cooking, managing money, keeping appointments, getting out and holding on to a tenancy.

Where the aim is independence, the measure of success is usually that somebody needs less from us over time. That is worth saying because it runs against the commercial grain, and it is easy for an agency to settle quietly into doing things for people because it is quicker.

We plan support with each person in language they can follow, keep the visiting team small so people are known, and revisit the plan when circumstances change rather than filing it away.
