About Us

We are Colchester HomeCare, a home care agency supporting adults in their own homes in Colchester and across north Essex. We work with older people and with younger adults, including people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss.

Support that works has to fit the life somebody already has, so we spend real time at the beginning understanding routines, preferences, family and what a good day looks like, and we write the plan in plain language rather than in the vocabulary of assessments. When it stops matching reality, we change it.

Our visits cover personal care, help with medication, meals, household tasks, appointments and getting out and about, as well as the harder to describe business of being a familiar and dependable presence in somebody's week. For younger adults the emphasis is often on routine and confidence rather than on doing things for them.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We treat that as a reflection of ordinary consistency, which is what this work demands, and we keep auditing our visits, records and medication practice so that it stays accurate.
