About Us

Anglian Care at Rankin House provides support at home to adults in Benfleet and across south Essex.

The people we visit include older people who need help to carry on living in their own houses, adults living with dementia, people with a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment and younger adults who need support to live independently.

Those are very different kinds of support and we do not pretend one approach covers them all. For older people and people living with dementia, the priority is usually continuity and reliability: the same carers, arriving when they said they would, allowed enough time to do things properly. For younger adults and people with a learning disability, it is more often about independence, whether that means cooking, handling money, getting to work or college, or keeping up with friends.

The practical work covers personal care, support with medication, meals, household tasks, shopping and help to get out and about. Alongside it sits noticing, which appears on no schedule but keeps people out of hospital more often than anything else we do.
