Visits cover personal care, help with medication, meals and drinks, housework and laundry, shopping, getting to appointments, and company for people whose days have grown very quiet. For those living with dementia we keep the same small team visiting and work at their pace. Where sight or hearing is affected we think about how we announce ourselves and explain what we are doing. We are strict about timekeeping, because waiting in for somebody who does not arrive as promised is genuinely distressing.
