About Pendrea Home Care

Pendrea Home Care provides support in people's own homes in Bodmin and across Cornwall. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with physical disabilities and people with visual or hearing impairment. Care at home is done on somebody else's territory, to their standards rather than ours, and we think that is a privilege. Skills can be taught; turning up reliably, being decent company and treating somebody's home with respect are harder to instil, so we recruit with that in mind. Support can be a short morning call to help somebody wash, dress and get going safely, or several visits a day covering personal care, medication, meals, mobility, shopping and a check in the evening. Before anything starts we spend proper time working out what would genuinely help and what a person would rather manage themselves. For people living with dementia we keep the same small team going into the same home at consistent times, because familiarity is worth more than almost anything else we could offer. Where we support autistic adults and people with learning disabilities, the emphasis shifts to enabling rather than doing. Where there is a sensory impairment we adapt how we communicate and leave the home as the person expects to find it. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering support at home in Cornwall, please get in touch.
