About Compassionate Heart

We are Compassionate Heart, a home care provider in Cambridge supporting people in their own homes across the city and the surrounding county. The people we work with are varied. We support older people and people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition or an eating disorder, people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults building independent lives. That range means we do not offer one shape of service. We visit first, talk properly with the person and with family where that is wanted, and agree what support should actually cover. For some people it is a short call each morning. For others it is several visits covering personal care, medication, meals and the practical running of a home, or support that is more about routine, encouragement and company than about tasks at all. Where somebody needs care that takes specialist understanding, we prepare the carers going in rather than leaving them to work it out on the doorstep. And we keep the same carers with the same people wherever the rota allows, because trust is what this work runs on. We liaise with GPs, district nurses, community teams and social workers as needed.
