About Us

West Hope Mews is a residential care home in Horsham in West Sussex. We support older people and younger adults, including adults with a learning disability or autism and people with physical disabilities, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places.

We should be straight about where we stand. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We know what the inspectors found, we have an improvement plan and we are working through it with the people who live here, their families and their social workers, reporting on progress as we go. Anyone considering a place should ask us exactly what was wrong, what has changed and how we are checking that it lasts.

What we are working to protect meanwhile is the character of the place. This is somebody's home, not a unit. People have their own rooms and their own belongings and a real say in how the week is spent. Staff support people to do as much for themselves as they want to, whether that is cooking, shopping, managing money or getting out and about in Horsham.

We take time to learn how each person communicates, particularly where somebody does not use speech, and where physical disabilities are involved we make sure the equipment and the practical help are right so that support is safe and dignified.

Please come and see the house, meet the team and put the hard questions to us.
