About Us

Hobbs Field is a residential care home in Horsham. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, and people with sight or hearing loss.

Because the people who live here want very different things from their days, we plan individually rather than running the house to one routine. Some are out a good deal, at activities, at work or seeing family. Others prefer things quiet and predictable, and neither is treated as a problem.

Support is agreed with each person using whatever way of communicating already works for them, and we take the trouble to learn it properly rather than guessing. Help with washing, dressing, mobility and medication is given discreetly and at the time a person prefers.

For people living with dementia we keep routines steady and staff familiar, and we use what relatives tell us about somebody's history in conversation and to settle things when they are anxious. Where sight or hearing loss is part of the picture, we adjust how we communicate and make the building easier to navigate.

Families and friends are welcome whenever they want to come. Short respite stays are available, which can also be a good way of seeing whether we suit before anyone commits.

Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to look round.
