About Us
Bickham House is a residential care home in Altrincham, providing care for older people. We also offer respite stays, which can give a family carer a proper break or help somebody get back on their feet after a spell in hospital.
We are a residential home and we keep the scale domestic. Residents keep their own routines and their own things around them, choose how they spend the day and what they eat, and are helped with washing, dressing, medication and getting about in the way that suits them. Meals are proper meals, and mealtimes are sociable for those who want company and quiet for those who do not.
What makes a home work is a team who stay long enough to know people properly. When carers know a resident's history, their family and their particular worries, they notice quickly when something has changed and they know what lifts a difficult day.
Relatives are welcome here at any reasonable time, and we keep in touch with them honestly rather than waiting for a crisis.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
If you are looking at residential care in Altrincham or the surrounding area, please arrange to visit, meet the team and take your time over the decision.
